Dare to Be Still

On October 4th at 10pm, over a dozen cellists from Juilliard with gather by the Reflecting Pool in order to reflect and to mourn the Las Vegas shooting, through music and through silence. You are invited to simply come. Remember that which is truly important as you dare to be still.

Tragedy sheds light on what we deem valuable. It rips us from the treadmill of daily life and forces us to acknowledge and remember that which is truly important.

And yet, despite the painful gut punch that tragedy delivers, the relentless pull of life all too often brings us back into our routine orbits before we have actually been able to truly understand the impact on both the world outside and the heart within. Our lives demand we keep moving, but our humanity pleads that we slow down, daring to be still and stand face to face with grief. Feeling pain is easy; stepping back into it is hard.
